Support Cairn.
Cairn is built and run on small money. If it’s been useful to you — or you just want to see a calm, ad-free, autistic-adult- edited space exist — you can chip in.
What keeps Cairn running
Right now, Cairn runs on about $50 a month— hosting, database, email. As more families join, that scales up: more storage, more outbound email, more compute. Real numbers, posted here so you know exactly where contributions go.
Cairn will always be free for the families who need it. No paywalls, no ads, no algorithmic dark patterns. The cost of running it doesn’t change that.
What your support unlocks
Today: keeping the lights on — hosting, database, email, the boring infrastructure that lets the room exist.
As Cairn grows: paying autistic writers and co-creators for their work. The first dollars of surplus go to commissioning autistic-adult contributors — not to founder salary.
What your support doesn’t buy
Editorial authority stays with our autistic-adult advisors and editors. Becoming a supporter doesn’t include input on moderation decisions, content policy, or roadmap. We hold that line so the room stays the room.
How to support
Cairn isn’t a registered 501(c)(3), so contributions aren’t tax-deductible. Beyond that, there are no strings — you can give once or recurring, any amount, cancel anytime.
Ko-fi opens in a new tab. Payments are processed through PayPal.
Other ways to help
If money isn’t the right fit right now, that’s completely fine. Sharing Cairn with one parent or autistic adult who’d benefit from a calm room is worth at least as much. Honest feedback when something feels off is worth more.
